Pemuda maut tak lama lepas rai abang kahwinDua rakan karib terkorban dalam nahas jalan raya.

-KELUARGA Encik Mohd Ghazali Ahmad begitu gembira meraikan perkahwinan anak sulungnya petang kelmarin.
Namun majlis keramaian itu bertukar hiba beberapa jam kemudian setelah anak keduanya, Encik Afiqhizami, 20 tahun, terkorban dalam kemalangan jalan raya.
Menurut polis, kemalangan itu berlaku apabila sebuah kereta merempuh dua buah motosikal sekitar 11 malam di Bukit Batok Road.
Akibat perlanggaran pertama, Encik Safiee Hamid, 19 tahun, mengalami kecederaan di tangan, kaki dan belakang badannya.
Perlanggaran kedua pula melibatkan Allahyarham Afiqhizami yang sedang membonceng motosikal yang dipandu kawan karibnya, Encik Syaffiq Salleh, 20 tahun.
Encik Syaffiq meninggal dunia di tempat kejadian sementara Allahyarham Afiqhizami meninggal dunia di Hospital Universiti Nasional (NUH) dua jam kemudian.
Ketika ditemui di rumahnya di Bukit Batok Street 52, ibu Allahyarham Afiqhizami, Cik Kaserah Sariman, 50 tahun, kelihatan tenang dan reda dengan pemergian anaknya itu.

Ketika Berita Harian melawat rumah Allahyarham Syaffiq di Bukit Batok West, ibunya, Cik Ana Abdullah, kelihatan sebak dan tidak dapat menahan air matanya.
'Sebenarnya pada malam itu, saya sedang sibuk masak untuk orang kahwin di Yishun. Semasa kemalangan itu berlaku, abang Allahyarham kebetulan lalu di tempat itu.
'Beliau kemudian pergi melihat kemalangan itu dan terperanjat apabila mendapati adiknya yang mendapat kemalangan itu dan telah tiada,' ujar Cik Ana sedih.
Beliau yang pasrah dan reda dengan apa yang terjadi berkata Allahyarham Syaffiq adalah anak yang baik dan tidak pernah bersikap biadab terhadap orang tua.
'Dia dah sign on dengan polis. Dia seharusnya tamat latihan di Akademi Polis bulan depan.
'Tapi dah sampai ajal. Yang menyedihkan, dia meninggal dunia dekat dengan Sekolah Rendah Princess Elizabeth. Di situlah dia mula belajar dan di situ dia meninggalkan dunia,' katanya sambil menahan air mata.
Ketika ditemui, Encik Safiee, yang juga kawan rapat kepada kedua-dua Allahyarham tidak dapat menahan rasa sedihnya.
Apabila diminta menceritakan kemalangan itu, beliau berkata: 'Sebetulnya, saya yang kena langgar dulu dan tercampak. Bila saya bangun saya masih dalam keadaan bingung.
'Dari jauh saya nampak susuk badan terlantar di jalan raya. Saya tidak sangka itu mayat Allahyarham Syaffiq.'
Menurut penuntut ITE Simei itu, Allahyarham Syaffiq sudah tidak bergerak. Beliau kemudian menemui Allahyarham Afiqhizami yang nampak seperti nyawa-nyawa ikan.
'Hentakan kuat sekali. Bayangkan keduadua topi keledar mereka tercampak dan pecah,' ujar Encik Safiee.
Kedua-duanya selamat disemadikan di Pusara Abadi petang semalam.

-Singapore man killed daughter over cigarettes: prosecutors.
A Singaporean man has gone on trial charged with murdering his 23-month-old daughter in a fit of rage after he caught her playing with his cigarettes, court officials said Tuesday.
Sallehan Allaudin, 26, is accused of fatally beating his daughter Nikie in January ahead of her second birthday, causing her to die of a ruptured vein. If convicted, he could face death by hanging.
The High Court was told Monday that Sallehan, who had just returned home with his wife with a present for Nikie, went berserk after seeing the toddler had torn up and scattered his cigarettes, the Straits Times reported Tuesday.
Sallehan has pleaded not guilty to the charge.
His wife, Rozanah Mohamed Yusoff, 24, used a mannequin to show the court how Sallehan allegedly kicked and stomped on their daughter in the kitchen, the newspaper said.
The couple, who have two younger daughters, called for an ambulance when Nikie started bleeding from the nose, but she died of her injuries, according to the report.
"I did not go into the kitchen to stop my husband as I thought that was the way he wanted to discipline Nikie," the wife was quoted as saying by the newspaper.
